Past Murals
In 2007, this mural was painted in collaboration with visiting artist Eric Orr for the Auckland Festival, AK07. The mural was completed with local students Deazel Martin (12), Dwayne Walsh (17), Sione Sione (16) from local secondary schools and tertiary visual arts students, Danielle Meredith (21) and Krystal Tavai (21).
In December 2006, the first official mural was painted by local Otara visual artist, Jayson Mokotupu in collaboration with local youth.
The structure came from the Ellerslie Flower Show where it was the Manukau City Council ‘Culture Stage’ in 2005. As a highly visible, bare cement structure, it was readily tagged.
